Post-Flight Inspection and Maintenance Checklist

Cleaning
Makesurethebatteryisnotconnectedbeforecleaning.Removedustanddebriswithasoftbrushoradry,
lint-freecloth.
Motors Replacethemotorwhenthemodelwillnotysteadyorveersoffwhendoingaclimbout.
Wiring Makesurethewiringdoesnotblockmovingparts.Replacedamagedwiringandlooseconnectors.
Fasteners
Makesuretherearenoloosescrews,otherfastenersorconnectors.Donotover-tightenmetalscrewsinplastic
parts.Tightenscrewssothepartsarematedtogether,thenturnthescrewonly1/8thofaturnmore.Donotuse
threadlockonornearplasticparts.
Propellers
Makesurethereisnodamagetothepropellersorotherpartsthatmoveathighspeed.Damagetotheseparts
includescracks,burrs,chipsorscratches.Replacedamagedpartsbeforeying.
WARNING:Removethepropellersfromthemotorspriortoperforminganytroubleshootingormaintenance.Failureto
dosomaycauseseriousinjuryifthemotorsstartunexpetedly.
Takeo
Whenyouarepreparedtoy,startthemotorsbyactivatingthemotorarmswitch(switchH),asprogrammedinthe
transmittersetupsection.Increasethethrottleuntilthemodelisapproximately2ft.(600mm)offthegroundandcheck
thetrimsothemodeliesasdesired.Oncethetrimisadjusted,beginyingthemodel.
Flighttimesfortheincludedbatterywillvaryaccordingtohowaggressivelythethrottleisused.
Low Voltage Cuto (LVC)
LVCdecreasesthepowertothemotorswhenthebatteryvoltagegetslow.Whenthemotorpowerdecreases,landthe
aircraftimmediatelyandrechargetheightbattery.
LVCdoesnotpreventthebatteryfromover-dischargeduringstorage.
NOTICE:RepeatedyingtoLVCwilldamagethebattery.
Landing
Toland,slowlydecreasethethrottlewhileinalow-levelhover.Afterlanding,stopthemotorsbychangingthemotorarm
switchtotheoffposition;disconnectandremovethebatteryfromtheaircraftafterusetopreventoverdischarge.During
storage,makesurethebatterychargedoesnotfallbelow3Vpercell.
Flying the Scimitar LRX Quadcopter
•Inanglemode(switch position 0 ),thequadcopterwillself-levelandhasabankanglelimitofapproximately60degrees.
•Inairmode(switch position 1),thequadcopterwillnotself-levelanddoesnothaveabankanglelimit.Atlowthrottle,the
ightcontrollerwillcontinuetostabilizethequadcoptertoholdwhateverattitudewaslastcommanded.Thismodeisuse-
fulforyingsmoothaerobaticmaneuversatbothhighandlowthrottlesettings.
•Inacromode(switch position 2 ),thequadcopterwillnotself-levelanddoesnothaveabankanglelimit.Atlowthrottle,the
ightcontrollerwillnotstabilizethequadcopter.Thepilotmustactivelycontrolthequadcoptertomaintainadesiredat-
titude.Thismodeismostpreferredwhenimmediatechangesinaltitudearedesired,suchasinracing.Useratesandexpo
totunetheperformanceaccordingtoyouryingstyle.
