System Host Log Configuration
Table 4-3 Host Log Configuration Commands
Command Syntax and Usage
logging host {<1-2>} address {<IP address>}
Sets the IP address of the selected syslog host.
Command mode: Global configuration
logging host {<1-2>} facility {<0-7>}
Sets the facility level of the selected syslog host displayed. The default is zero.
Command mode: Global configuration
logging host {<1-2>} severity {<0-7>}
Sets the severity level of the selected syslog host displayed. The default is seven, which means log
all severity levels.
Command mode: Global configuration
no logging host {<1-2>}
Deletes the selected host instance.
Command mode: Global configuration
[no] logging console
Enables or disables delivery of syslog messages to the console and Telnet/SSH sessions.
The default value is enabled.
Command mode: Global configuration
[no] logging log [<feature>]
Displays a list of features for which syslog messages can be generated. You can choose to
enable/disable specific features (such as VLAN or UFD), or enable/disable syslog on all
available features.
Command mode: Global configuration
show logging messages
Displays the current system log (syslog) messages.
Command mode: All
show logging
Displays the current syslog settings.
Command mode: All
