IBM Systems Director
IBM Systems Director is another application from IBM that can be used by IBM System
Networking switches as a logging and reporting destination. For more information about IBM
System Director, see Implementing IBM Systems Director 6.1, SG24-7694.
7.4 Troubleshooting
In this section, we show some basic troubleshooting tools and techniques.
7.4.1 LEDs
You can verify the basic status of the switch by visually inspecting the switch’s LEDs.
For information about the LED statuses of different switch models, see the LED Status
sections of Chapter 1, “Introduction to IBM System Networking 10Gb Ethernet products” on
page 1.
7.4.2 Basic troubleshooting procedure
This section contains basic troubleshooting information to help resolve problems that might
occur during the installation and operation of your switch. If you have problems accessing the
switch or working with the software, see the Command Reference guide for your switch
model, as listed in “Related publications” on page 333.
System LEDs do not light
Symptom: The Power Supply LED does not light.
Solution: Check the power supply to make sure that there is a connection to the power
source. Verify that power is available from the power source.
Port link LED does not light
Symptom: The port link LED does not light.
