3. Host configuration.
We now define the host part of the configuration for Windows and Linux.
– Configure Windows hosts.
For the Top-of-Rack reference architecture, we used an IBM System x3550 M3
machine with a Windows Server 2008 R2 operating system connected to the two
G8124 access switches (ACC1 and ACC2). For more details, see Chapter 3,
“Reference architectures” on page 107.
The server is connected to the switches by using a dual port Emulex 10GbE Virtual
Fabric Adapter NIC, with vNIC mode disabled.
The two network ports are configured in Failover mode teaming. To see the teaming
configuration on the server, see Figure 5-2.
