Installing the RackSwitch G8000
This chapter describes how to install and initialize the RackSwitch G8000.
Required Tools
You need the following tools or equipment to successfully accomplish the installation procedures in
this document:
 Standard flat-blade screwdriver
 #2 Phillips screwdriver
 Electrostatic discharge wrist strap
Package Contents
The basic RackSwitch G8000 package contains the following items:
 G8000 switch unit (one of the following):
 G8000F (front-to-rear airflow)
 G8000R (rear-to-front airflow)
 Standard rack mount kit
 Two brackets
 Screws to attach brackets to the switch unit
 Screws to attach the switch unit to the equipment rack
 Mini-USB serial cable
 Two AC or DC power cords
