Stacking Configuration
A stack is a group of switches that work together as a unified system. The network views a
stack of switches as a single entity, identified by a single network IP address. The Stacking
Configuration menu is used to configure a stack, and to define the Master and Backup interface
that represents the stack on the network.
Table 4-26 Stacking commands
Command Syntax and Usage
[no] stack name <1-32 characters>
Configures a name for the stack.
Command mode: Global configuration
stack backup <csnum (1-6)>
Defines the backup switch, based on its configured switch number (csnum).
Command mode: Global configuration
show stack switch-number <1-6>
Displays current stacking parameters.
Command mode: All except user EXEC
