To apply a memory to one or more clips in a timeline, do one of the following:
1 Choose one or more clips in the Thumbnail timeline to copy to. This can be the current
clip, or it can be a range of clips that you select by Command-Clicking or Shift-Clicking.
2 Do one of the following to copy a grade to the selected clips:
Right-click a memory and choose Apply Grade.
Choose Color > Memories > Load Memory AH (Command-18).
Using the DaVinci control panel, press the letter of the memory bank you want to
apply. Use the SHIFT UP button to apply a memory that shares the same button.
To clear a memory:
Right-click a memory, then choose Clear.
Copying Using Preview Memory
You can also preview the effect of a memory or saved grade on the current clip, with the option
to either keep it if it works, or go back to the previous grade if it doesn’t.
To Preview Memory:
1 Move the playhead to a clip for which you want to preview a memory.
2 Choose Color > Preview Memory (Option-Shift-P).
3 Do one of the following:
Right-click any saved still in the Gallery and choose Apply Grade.
Choose Memories > Load > Memory AH (Command-18).
The selected grade or memory is now being previewed.
4 Now, do one of the following to either accept or reject the memory:
If you like the effect, then you can leave it be and move on to another clip.
If you don’t like the effect, then choosing Color > Preview Memory (Option-Shift-P)
again reverts the clip to the original grade.
To Preview Memory using the DaVinci control panel:
1 Move the playhead to a clip on which you want to preview a memory. You can use the
PREV SCENE and NEXT SCENE buttons to move quickly.
2 Press PVW MEM on the T-bar panel, and then press the letter of the memory bank
you want to preview. Use the SHIFT UP button to apply a memory that shares the
same button.
3 Do one of the following:
If you like the grade you’re previewing, there’s no need to do anything else. Simply
move to another clip and continue working.
If you don’t like the grade you’re previewing, press PVW MEM again and the clip’s
grade will revert to its original state. Pressing PVW MEM repeatedly toggles the
current clip between its original and the previewed grade.
