What Are OpenFX?
Fusion is able to use compatible OpenFX (OFX) plug-ins that are installed on your computer.
OpenFX is an open standard for visual effects plug-ins. It allows plug-ins written to the standard
to work on both DaVinci Resolve and Fusion Studio as well as other applications that support
the standard.
OFX plug-ins can be purchased and downloaded from third-party suppliers such as BorisFX,
Red Giant, and RE:Vision Effects. All OFX appear in the OpenFX category of the Effects Library,
alongside all other effects that are available in Fusion.
What Are ResolveFX?
The Fusion page is DaVinci Resolve is also able to access ResovleFX. ResolveFX are filter
effects within DaVinci Resolve. Although most ResolveFX have the same capabilities on all
DaVinci Resolve pages, some are specific to the Color page and require the use of the Color
page tracker for full functionality. All ResolveFX appear in the Fusion page Effects Library in the
OpenFX category alongside third-party OFX plug-ins. ResolveFX are not available in Fusion

Applying OpenFX and
ResolveFX Plug-Ins
ResolveFX and OFX plug-ins are applied to the Node Editor just as you would apply native
Fusion nodes. They can help you create fast, interesting looks and effects using the Color
page, or imaginative transitions and effects on your clips on the Edit page. ResolveFX are
installed with DaVinci Resolve,
After installing a set of OFX plug-ins, you can access them or ResolveFX plug-ins in Fusion by
opening the OpenFX category in the Effects Library.
To add a plug-in to the Node Editor, either click the OpenFX or ResolveFX plug-in name in the
Effects Library or drag and drop the plug-in onto a connection line to insert it into the node tree.
If the plug-in has editable settings, you can adjust these in the Inspector.
