ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS for: STL-06P-BL-_/STL-06P-PC-_
CAUTION: READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY FOR SAFE OPERATION AND INSTALLATION.
CAUTION
Turn off the main power at the circuit breaker before installing the fixture in order to prevent possible
shock.
GENERAL
1. All electrical connections must be in accordance with local and national electrical code (N.E.C)
standards. If you are unfamiliar with proper electrical wiring connections obtain the services of a
qualified electrician. Remove the fixture and the mounting package from the box and make sure
that no parts are missing by referencing the illustrations on the installation instruction.
2. Dimming controller type: TRIAC phase control dimmer.
3. Recommended TRIAC dimmers:
LUTRON: ARIADNI AYCL-153P, DIVA DVCL-153P, SKYLARK CTCL-153P, SKYLARK SCL-153P;
LEVITON: ILLUMATECH IPI06-1L, ILLUMATECH IPI10-1L, DECORA DSL06, DECORA DSM10;
LEGRAND: ADORNE: WHISPER/ ADWR, SOFTTAP/ ADTP, TOUCH/ ADTH.
ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION
1. Take the fixture out of box. Unpack bundled wire, but be careful not to bend or kink wires when
unpacking. Remove second package with 1 decorative light guide (14)
2. Install a decorative light guide (14) into outer barrel (15).
3. Remove the back panel (10) from the fixture pan (11) by loosening three thumbscrews (12).
4. Bring the backplate to the ceiling and attach the wiring connections: connect the white supply wire
(2) to the white fixture wire (4); connect the black supply wire (8) to the black fixture wire (7); connect
the house ground wire (5) to the fixture ground wire (6) using wire connectors (3).
5. Place the back panel (10) over the outlet box (1). Insert mounting screws (9) through the slots in the
back panel and then tightly secure the mounting screws into the outlet box.
6. Determine the appropriate length of each suspension wire (if in doubt about exact length needed,
leave a little extra wire until final installation of fixture pan (11). Push the excess wire up into the
canopy by pressing the small barrel of the gripper (13) upward. This will release the wire tension and
allow the suspended wire to be pulled through gripper (13). Roll excess wire into a small loop inside
the canopy. Wrap the supplied Velcro strap around this loop to keep the excess wire from falling
outside the fixture pan (11).
7. Make sure all wires are carefully placed inside fixture pan (11). Secure the fixture pan (11) to the
back panel (10) by tightening three thumbscrews (12).
8. Once the canopy is in place, fine tune the wire lengths longer or shorter to get each light guide
adjusted to its preferred mounting height by adjusting the gripper (13).
