Use the Voice Control app to send messages, make calls, book meetings, search the Internet, post tweets, and more. To maximize your use of this type of battery, when possible, do the following: • • • • • Charge your device for an extended period of time rather than charging in small increments, for example, charging for less than 15 minutes. Avoid using your device while it is charging, to help it charge faster. Charge your device often, even when the battery charge isn't low.

User Guide Messages Add a work account supported by BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 If your organization uses BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10, you can add your work account to your device and take advantage of features like BlackBerry Balance. If you organization hasn't upgraded to BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 and is using BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5 or earlier, you can still add your work account and have it use Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. All of your email, text messages, social networking notifications, missed calls, and voice mail messages can be found in the BlackBerry Hub. The BlackBerry Hub isn't like other apps on your BlackBerry device. Inter-Access Point Handover If the network spans multiple access points, set whether your device should remain connected when you move from one access point to another.

If other devices can't connect you might need to reset your router. If you're connecting to a work Wi-Fi network or a hotspot, talk to your administrator or an employee at the hotspot. Your connection might have timed out. Try connecting again.
User Guide Settings and options Mobile Hotspot mode Sharing your Internet connection using Mobile Hotspot mode When you use Mobile Hotspot mode your BlackBerry device creates a Wi-Fi network that other Wi-Fi enabled devices can connect to so that they can use the Internet through your mobile network connection.

Read the setup screens carefully as they provide important information about the Internet tethering feature. 4.

NFC is a short-range wireless technology that's designed for easily sharing content and information without having to use pairing information. Depending on the applications you have installed on your device and the NFC compatibility of other devices, there can be many interesting ways to use NFC.

Wireless connections and clock alarms aren't affected. Press the Power/Lock key on the top of your device. To wake up your device, swipe up from the bottom of the device screen.
User Guide Settings and options The battery is charging. The battery is fully charged. The battery isn't charging because the power source isn't providing enough power. Use the charger that came with your BlackBerry device to charge the battery. The battery charge is low, and your wireless connections might turn off to conserve power. If the battery charge gets too low, your device might turn off. Save any work in progress and charge your device.

To maximize your use of this type of battery, when possible, do the following: • • • • • Charge your device for an extended period of time rather than charging in small increments, for example, charging for less than 15 minutes. Avoid using your device while it is charging, to help it charge faster. Charge your device often, even when the battery charge isn't low.
User Guide Settings and options A solid green LED can indicate that your device is plugged into a charger and that charging is complete. Battery safety You should only use the battery that BlackBerry specifies for use with your particular BlackBerry device model. If you use any other battery, you might invalidate any warranty provided with your device. CAUTION: There is a risk of explosion if the battery is replaced with an incorrect battery type. Do not attempt to replace your non-removable battery.

To adjust other volume settings, on the home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen. Tap Settings > System Volume or Notifications. Close apps Increase how long a single charge lasts by closing any apps or features that you finished using so that they aren't continuously running in the background.

For example, you can magnify the screen, use your hearing aid with your device, and change the font size. 1. On the home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen. 2. Tap 3. Change your settings. Settings > Accessibility. Turn on Magnify mode You can use Magnify mode to enlarge the information on your BlackBerry device screen.

Settings and options If you reach the maximum magnification, your BlackBerry device vibrates. Temporarily turn off Magnify mode There may be times when you want to temporarily turn off the magnification of your screen to see the whole screen at once, and then turn on Magnify mode again to continue what you were doing.

Turn on Hearing Aid mode Before you begin: This feature might not be supported depending on your BlackBerry device model. Hearing Aid mode is designed to improve the compatibility of your device with your hearing aid.

If you don't want to see this verification message each time you turn on the BlackBerry Screen Reader, turn off the Confirmation Message option in the screen reader settings. Gestures that start at the edges of the screen (such as swiping down from the top to access Settings or swiping up from the bottom to minimize an app) are the same in the Screen Reader app as they are in all other apps.

Move to the previous or next section of text (such as a character, word, line, sentence, or paragraph) or web content (such as headings and links). Swipe left with one finger to go to the previous text or content; swipe right with one finger to go to the next text or content.
