2. Expand SQL Native Client Configuration.
3. Right-click Aliases. Click New Alias.
4. In the Alias Name field, type the database server name.
5. In the Port No field, type the static port number.
6. In the Protocol drop-down list, click TCP/IP.
7. In the Server field, type the database server name.
8. Click OK.
Create an alias to the database server using the cliconfg.exe tool
1. On the computer that you want to install a BlackBerry® Enterprise Server on, click Start > Run.
2. Type cliconfg.exe.
3. Click OK.
4. On the Alias tab, click Add.
5. In the Server alias field, type the database server name.
6. In Network libraries, select TCP/IP.
7. In the Connection Parameters, Server name field, type the database server name.
8. Clear the Dynamically determine port check box.
9. In the Port number field, type the port number.
10. Click OK.
