If the Home Portal server specified is not available, an error message will appear when the

periodic server update check occurs.

The standard portal URL is http://host:port/wps/myportal, where /wps is a standard portal context

and /myportal is a standard personalized Home.

Procedure:

1. Click File > Preferences.

2. Click Home Portal Account.

3. In the Name field, note the preset Home Portal Account value.

4. In the Description field, type a descriptor, for example Home Portal Account.

5. In the server Type field, note the preset value.

6. In the Server field, type the Web address of your WebSphere Portal server, for example

http://abx8.ibm.com/wps.

Include the Portal context, for example /wps, when specifying the server URL, as shown below:

http://abx8.lotus.com:10038/wps is a valid server URL.

http://abx8.lotus.com:10038/ is not a valid server URL.

7. In the User name and Password fields, type your WebSphere Portal user name and password.

8. In the Home Portal URL field, type the WebSphere Portal server URL, for example

http://abx8.lotus.com:10038/wps/myportal.

Note: By default, this field is based on the value specified in the Server field above. For example, if

you specify a Server value of http://abx:10038/wps, the Home Portal URL field would automatically be

set to http://abx8.lotus.com:10038/wps/myportal. If your WebSphere Portal server is installed with a

personalized Home other than the default "myportal", you must override the default value in the Home

Portal URL field, for example http://abx8.lotus.com:10038/wps/myPortalSrv1. In this case, the

Personalized Home of your portal is myPortalSrv1.

9. In the Authentication type field, choose a type, such as the recommended PORTAL

FORM type.

10. In the Authentication URL field, type the authenticating server URL, for example

http://abx8.ibm.com/wps/

Configuring component update for composite applications

Composite application update, supported by IBM Lotus Domino and IBM WebSphere Portal, is available

in this Beta release. Composite applications and associated Expeditor/Eclipse-based features can be

automatically updated when a user opens an application or by client auto-update running on a periodic

schedule. Composite applications can update composite application definitions. Certain Eclipse features

can be updated by provisioning.

A composite application definition can reference one or more Eclipse features as application

requirements. Each requirement can specify a particular update site from which it will be provisioned.
