Autonomy KeyView filter formats supported
The Domino 8 server and Notes 8 client have been upgraded with version 9.2.4 of Autonomy KeyView
filters and viewers, which support bidirectional reading order. Autonomy, Inc. is a leading provider of
viewing, search and retrieval applications for the enterprise and the Internet. Autonomy's KeyView
technology enables Domino to access, index, and view document attachments of many file types and
forms such as image and word-processing formats.
The Autonomy KeyView filtering and viewing package enables developers to extract text from a wide
variety of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation formats through a set of APIs. The APIs
additionally support summary information extraction and automatic detection of document types. The
Autonomy Filter SDK API supports both file-based and stream-based input and output operations. The
Autonomy Viewing SDK allows developers to incorporate universal viewing into proprietary document
management, groupware, email, fax server and information portal applications.
Domino 6 will stay with the Autonomy (formerly Verity) 7.0a KeyView release now and throughout the
maintenance cycle. Domino 7.0 will stay with Autonomy (formerly Verity) KeyView 7.4.0.2.
This is a binary upgrade of the Autonomy KeyView Filters. Features gained by this upgrade include:
z
The ability to filter container files which consist of a main file and sub-files embedded in the main file.
Compressed files, such as zipped files and e-mail message files, with attachments such as Outlook
Express, are examples of container files. The following formats are supported using the container
functions: Microsoft Outlook Express (.eml), Microsoft Outlook (.msg), Microsoft Outlook Personal
Folder (.pst), and zipped (.zip) files. Note: .zip files are not supported by Notes and Domino.
z
The ability to filter Microsoft Outlook Personal Folders (.pst) and to extract Outlook items (messages,
appointments, contacts, tasks, notes, and journal entries) from a .pst file to either a single output file
or to the original Outlook folder structure.
