End users can access composite applications from within the Lotus Notes interface.

Organizations can deploy composite applications made up of only Notes applications or they can
create composite applications using a variety of component types including Eclipse/Java
applications.

Composite applications in Lotus Notes 8 can be used online or offline.
Activities (The activities server is not provided with this Notes Domino 8 Beta release.)

E-mail, instant messaging chats, documents, web pages, and images are grouped together under
the activity or project to which they are related.

Graphical, hierarchal format makes it easier to refer to past work, visualize project status, and
discover opportunities for further progress.

Users can quickly create new activities or access existing activities via the Activities viewer.

Team members can edit documents, make comments and add information as needed.
z
Activities can be searched and filtered.

Using Lotus Notes 8 on low-memory machines
A basic configuration of Notes 8 is available for cases involving low-memory client machines. As in
previous releases of Notes, clients running this basic configuration can access only applications that
reside on Domino servers. For more information on what Notes 8 features are available with this
configuration, see "Features not available in "basic" configuration of Notes 8" in these release notes.

Help represents a draft of features that are available in IBM Lotus Notes and IBM Lotus Domino 8 Beta.
Help applies only to the current Beta release of Notes and Domino 8, and may not accurately represent
the features available in the final release. Features are subject to change.
Lotus Notes Help
Lotus Notes 8 Beta includes an Eclipse-based Help system that lets you display context-sensitive help in
a side panel while you work. In addition to help for Lotus Notes, this Help includes sections on Sametime
Connect, Activities, Feeds, Composite Application Editor, Portal Template Library and Portal Application
Catalog, Google Desktop Search, and IBM Lotus Productivity Tools, all of which might be installed as part
of the client installation.
