Java Console functionality is not available

If you load a Microsoft Vista or Microsoft XP system with the latest Notes 8 client kit you will either not ga

in Java console functionaility or, if you had it, you will lose it. When installation and setup are complete,

launching the Java console from the Notes binary directory (c:\program files\IBM\lotus\notes\

console.exe)

will display the following error:

Notes client installation needs "C" drive

The Macrovision InstallShield utility will install to any drive, as long as a "C" drive exists. If the "C" drive is

absent from your workstation, you will see the message "Error 1327 Invalid Drive C:\", and the

installation will abort.

Notes does not remember previous install features when re -run

When performing a "Modify" installation, that is, an installation for a second time from the installation kit,

features selected during the initial installation are not displayed as "selected" in the feature panel during

the second, modified installation. You must select the same features installed during the initial installation

or the feature will be uninstalled.

This issue is expected to be addressed in the Gold release of Notes/Domino 8.
