IBM Lotus Productivity Tools issues
Lotus Notes
Linux: No "Save as type" option available
There is no "Save as type" combobox in the 'Save as' dialog for IBM Productivity Tools running on the
SUSE platform. File extensions need be set specifically to save a file as a certain type.
Lotus Notes
ODF file association is overwritten
The following file extension associations that are defined by the OpenDocument standard are overwritten
on Windows platforms when you install IBM Notes 8 Beta: .odt, .ott, .ods, .ots, .odp, and .otp. If you want
to change the association, please consult your system administrator. The following gives one possible
way to change the association of certain file extensions:
1.
In the File Explorer, right-click on a file with the extension whose association you want to change, and
then click "Open With"
2.
In the "Open With" dialog, click the program that you want to use to open the file, or click "Browse" to
choose the program on a disk
3.
Select the check box "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file"
Lotus Notes
Special characters are not supported in file name
Use of special characters, like "*" and "#" in a file name is not supported, and should be avoided.
Unpredictable results, including opening the wrong file and overwriting other files, may occur.
Avoid using special characters when saving a document. If a file name contains special characters,
rename it before opening it.

Unavailable network printer can cause performance downgrade
If a user's default printer is a network printer, and is not available, the performance of the IBM Lotus
Productivity Tools may be downgraded because of network latency. As a workaround, change the default
printer to an available printer.

Using Productivity Tools and Notes 8 simultaneously
If you open one of the IBM Lotus Productivity Tools editors, for example from the Desktop or Start menu,
and then open Lotus Notes 8 Beta the "Tools" and "Window" options in the Notes 8 top bar may display
grayed and unusable. This issue only happens when the Lotus Notes 8 Beta is started after one of the
Productivity Tools editors. To avoid this issue, start Lotus Notes 8 Beta before starting any of the Lotus
Productivity Tools editors.
