IBM Lotus Notes, Domino, Domino Designer 8 Release Notes
Contacts issues
Lotus Notes
New Location added in PNAB does not display in Location Switcher
If a new location document is created from the personal name and address book, it is not immediately
available to be displayed in the location switcher. The location will be displayed after exiting and
restarting the Notes Client.
Workaround
The new location is immediately displayed if the new location is created from the Location Switcher rather
than manually creating it in the personal name and address book.
DB2 issues
Domino Server
Do not upgrade Domino 7.x to Domino 8 DB2-enabled Notes database
If you have enabled your Domino servers to communicate with DB2, and you have DB2-enabled Notes
databases, do not migrate directly from Domino 7.x to this Domino 8 Beta release. If you do so, you will
be unable to access your data.
Workaround
1.
Create NSF database replicas of the DB2-enabled Notes databases. Use the Create Replica tool in
the Domino Administrator. Be sure to create the replica on a Domino server configured with NSF as
the default datastore.
2.
Upgrade to Domino 8.
3.
Run the server enablement tool to allow the Domino and DB2 server to communicate.
4.
Convert the NSF database replicas back to DB2-enabled Notes databases.
Domino Server
Domino and DB2 - error SQL0964C
The error "SQL0964C - The transaction log for the database is full" occurs when you run Fixup on a large
DB2 enabled Notes application and an "out of log space" condition occurs.
When this error occurs, the Domino server is unable to process application requests on behalf of DB2
enabled Notes applications. If you need to run Fixup for fixing corrupt folders, and you do not have a
replica of the DB2 enabled Notes application, you can allow folder fixup by adding the following Notes.INI
setting to your Notes.INI file on the server.
DB2NSF_Allow_Folder_Fixup=1
Using this Notes.INI setting for a large DB2 enabled Notes application can render DB2 enabled Notes
applications inoperable until the Domino server is restarted.
