Composite Applications issues
Lotus Notes, Domino Designer
Applications not opened in the correct window
Applications are not opened in the correct window when the Composite Application Editor has focus. This
occurs when opening another database/composite application from the client while the Composite
Application Editor is open.
Workaround
Whenever a new application is opened while the Composite Application Editor is open, click on any
application in the main window to make it active.
Lotus Notes
Cannot open a URL Link to a Composite Application
This release note applies to Lotus Notes 8 running on the Windows platform:
There are some known issues with URL links to Composite Applications. You can create such a link with
an opened Composite Application by using Edit -> Copy As -> Application URL or Edit -> Copy As ->
Page URL, and then paste it into a Notes document. Sometimes the link will inadvertently be truncated,
resulting in an error message when you open the link.
You may be able to open the Composite Application using your browser by copying the URL into the
browser. In Lotus Notes, with the document in Edit mode, put the cursor anywhere within the link. Select
Hotspot -> Hotspot Properties. Copy the URL in the Value field of the Hotspot Resource Link dialog.
Paste it in a browser. The browser will then attempt to open the application in Lotus Notes.
Alternatively, when creating a link to a composite application, use Application Links (Application -> Copy
As a Link) instead of Application URL or Page URL.
Domino Designer
Component data is sometimes not visible when editing
When editing composite applications with the Composite Application Editor, component data is
sometimes not visible on the Editing pane.
Workarounds
1. Re-add your component to the application and the content of the original component should display
within Composite Application Editor editing area. You then should delete the surplus component that has
no data displaying.
2. Exit the Composite Application Editor to see your component data. The component data will display
when the application is running in the Notes client. Re-edit the application again in the Composite
Application Editor and the component data should appear.
