Domino Server
NETBIOS over TCP/IP not supported on Windows 2003 x64
NETBIOS over TCP/IP does not work on Microsoft Windows 2003 x64 Edition (64-bit) servers. If you
enable a Domino NETBIOS port, the server will crash.
Domino for System i
System i: Features not available with Domino 8
The following features are not available with the Domino 8 Beta release on System i:
z
Domino DB2 datastore (NSFDB2) and related Query View and Domino Access View capabilities.
z
Integration and forwarding events to the Tivoli Enterprise console
z
The feature Fault Recovery restart in less than 30 seconds with Full NSD is not implemented for
System i and Domino 8 beta.
z
Domino 8 does not support the batch installation feature using the LODRUN command with
physical media. The OS400/INTLENG/BATCH directory files were removed from the CD when
the Domino product grew to require a second CD for installation.
z
iSeries Cluster Enabled Domino is not available. For more information on System i High
Availability (HA); see http://www.ibm.com/eserver/iseries/ha/
z
xSP hosting has been removed. If the CFGDOMSVR or CHGDOMSVR commands specify
XSP(*YES), the setting is ignored.
z
SNMP Agent is not supported.
z
IPV6 support with i5/OS V5R4 is available but limited. With Domino 8 beta you can configure a
Domino server to communicate using IPV6, but the following functions are not supported with
IPV6 and i5/OS V5R4 and still require an IPV4 connection:
z
iSeries Navigator and iSeries Navigator Tasks on the Web (requires an IPV4 connection so
System i)
z
Java applications (including Java console)
z
HTTP (Apache) Plugin
z
FTP
You can configure a Domino server to communicate using IPV6 using the CFGDOMSVR CL
command or configuration wizard (domwzd.

).

System i: Java Console limitations
Following are the System i Java Console limitations for Domino 8:
Ending a server from the Java Console
To End the Domino server from the Java console issue either of the following commands:
z
QUIT
z
RESTART SERVER
The following Java Console options are not supported to end i5/OS Domino server:
z
Menu: File->Stop Server
z
con kill domino
z
con restart domino
If you issue any of these commands, the WRKDOMSVR panel will show that the server is in an
*ENDING state, however the server does not end.
