IBM Lotus Notes, Domino, Domino Designer 8 Release Notes
Composite Applications issues
Domino Designer
Composite Application Editor saves application with no changes
The Composite Application Editor saves an application when nothing has changed. There currently is no
workaround, so care must be given when multiple users are editing an application on a Domino server.
Lotus Notes, Domino Designer
Composite applications only open in Notes client
A composite application can only be opened in the Notes client. In that case, the CA.XML that defines the
application is read and any additional features are then provisioned.
When a composite application is opened in the Domino Designer client, the CA.XML is NOT read, and
provisioning does not occur.
Domino Designer
Errors occur using merged WSDL files in composite applications
There are known problems with composite applications that contain multiple WSDLs in the same NSF
component. It is recommended, therefore, that you do not use more than one WSDL in a single NSF.
Domino Designer
Errors occur when adding local components
Errors may occur when adding local components (for example, Lotus Productivity Editors) to composite
applications from the Composite Application Editor Component Palette. This occurs because not all local
components are currently supported.
Domino Designer
No "locking" occurs when editing NSFs simultaneously
In cases where two or more users are editing an application on a Domino server using the Composite
Application Editor, only the changes of the first user that saves are actually saved. There is no "locking"
of applications in Domino as there is in WebSphere Portal.
Domino Designer
NSF components in composite application not visible in a browser
NSF components in composite applications are not visible when you view your application with a browser.
In the previous beta release , you could configure the component on Portal using DAP to display the NSF
component. This feature has been disabled for this release.
When using the Composite Application Editor, you should use the Domino Application Portlet when calling
NSFCompGen for NSF components to be visible.
