BlackBerry Enterprise Server for IBM Lotus Domino Upgrade Guide
When you install the new BlackBerry Enterprise Server, use the same name and SRP credentials as one of the
BlackBerry Enterprise Servers that you plan to replace. You must prevent the IBM Lotus Domino server from
starting automatically during the upgrade process using these same SRP credentials.
Create replicas of IBM Lotus Domino databases
You must create replicas of the BlackBerry-related IBM Lotus Domino databases used by the BlackBerry
Enterprise Server that you plan to replace. See the IBM Lotus Domino product documentation for more
information about creating a database replica.
1. Start the IBM Lotus Domino server on the computer on which you plan to install the BlackBerry Enterprise
Server Version 4.1.4.
2. Create replicas of the following databases from the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 2.2 on which you
consolidated the user licenses to the computer on which you plan to install the BlackBerry Enterprise Server
Version 4.1.4:
• BlackBerryProfiles.nsf
• all state databases
• notes.ini
3. Stop the IBM Lotus Domino server on the computer on which you plan to install the BlackBerry Enterprise
Server Version 4.1.4.
Checklist: Confirm the installation requirements on the new
computer
Step
Verify that you have met all the system requirements on the new computer. See “Hardware requirements” on page 15 for more
information.
Login to the new computer using an administrative account with the appropriate database permissions. See “Setting database
permissions” on page 35 for more information.
Note: The setup program adds this account automatically to the Security administrator role in the BlackBerry Configuration
Database.
Verify that the local system account on the new computer can access the BlackBerry Configuration Database. See “Setting
database permissions” on page 35 for more information.
If you are installing the BlackBerry Enterprise Server using Terminal Services, stop all BlackBerry services and close the Services
and Computer Management panels before you start the BlackBerry Enterprise Server setup program.
Turn off the IBM Lotus Domino server automatic start before you install and configure the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
Shut down the IBM Lotus Domino server.
Confirm that you have the following credentials for the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 2.2 installation:
• SRP credentials from an existing BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 2.2
• .ID file that the BlackBerry Mobile Data Service uses to connect to the BlackBerry-specific IBM Lotus Domino databases
See the BlackBerry Enterprise Server for IBM Lotus Domino version 2.2.x Installation and Getting Started Guide for more
