Note: A contact can only be in one group at a time. If you move a contact to a group, the contact is moved out of the group it was in
originally.
Rename a group
1. In BlackBerry® Messenger, on the contact list screen, highlight a group.
2. Press the Menu key.
3. Click Rename Group.
4. Type a name for the group.
5. Click OK.
Delete a group
You must move your contacts out of a group before you can delete that group.
1. In BlackBerry® Messenger, highlight a group.
2. Press the Menu key.
3. Click Delete Group.
Note: There must be at least one group in your BlackBerry Messenger contact list; you cannot delete the last remaining group in your
contact list.
Conversations
Start a conversation
1. In BlackBerry® Messenger, on the contact list screen, highlight a contact.
2. Press the Menu key.
3. Click Start Conversation.
4. Type a message.
5. Press the Enter key.
Open a conversation
Conversations appear in the conversation list and the main message list.
1. In BlackBerry® Messenger, in the conversation list, highlight a contact.
2. Click the trackball.
Add an emoticon
1. When composing a message, press the Symbol key three times.
2. Click an emoticon.
Send a file to a contact
1. During a BlackBerry® Messenger conversation, click the trackball.
2. Click Send a File.
