New Hardware Supported in ExtremeXOS 12.3.4
The following module is supported in ExtremeXOS 12.3.4:
● 8900-10G24X-c (800371-00)
In order to recognize the 8900-10G24X-c I/O module, a BlackDiamond
8800 series or 8900 series MSM
requires a specific minimum version of ExtremeXOS
®
software. The required software version depends
on the manufacturing part number of the module (see Table 1).
You must upgrade the software to the minimum ExtremeXOS release that supports your module. Be
sure to upgrade the software on your MSM before installing the 8900-10G24X-c I/O module into your
network.
CAUTION
If you try to install an 8900-10G24X-c I/O module without upgrading the software on your MSM to version
12.3.1 or later, the module will not be recognized by the software and it will not power up. The following error
messages are typical of the messages that you may see on the console or in the log. (The examples represent an
unrecognized module in slot 2.)
● Console: ERROR: Unknown cardtype in slot 2 - please program the eeprom
● Log: <Erro:HAL.Card.Error> MSM-A: Unable to read cardtype for slot 2

The following modules are supported in ExtremeXOS 12.3.3:
● Summit X650 series switches VIMs:
- VIM1-SummitStack512 (VIM1-SS512)
New Hardware Supported in ExtremeXOS 12.3.2
The following module is supported in ExtremeXOS 12.3.2:
- 8900-G96T-c module
