Applications
• Jump-start most vehicle batteries with a standa
rd 12 volt DC system: boat, small truck, car, RV,
personal watercraft, snowmobile, tractor, etc.
• Operate (using 5 amp rated 12 volt DC accesso
ry outlet): 12 volt DC fans, fluorescent
worklights, air compressors, spotlights, TVs, portable radios,
CD players, and more. The unit can
quick-charge a cell phone by using the phoneʼs 12 volt DC
adapter cord.
• Illuminate areas under the hood, inside tents and work ar
eas.
USING THE JUMP-ST
ARTER
This Jump-Starter is equipped with a safety Power Switch that only allows energy to flow when
p
roper connections are made to battery and frame. Once the connections are properly made, turn
the
switch ON to jump-start the vehicle.
1. Turn
OFF vehicle ignition and all accessories (radio, A/C, lights, connected cell phone
chargers, etc.).
Place vehicle in “park” and set the emergency brake.
2. Make sure
the Jump-Starter Power Switch is turned to OFF.
3. Remove jumper clamps from clamp tabs.
Connect the red clamp first, then
the black
clamp.
4. Procedure for jump-s
tarting a NEGATIVE GROUNDED SYSTEM (negative battery terminal is
connected to chassis) (MOST COMMON)
4a. Connect positive (+) red clamp to vehicle batteryʼs positive terminal.
4b. Connect negative (–) black clamp to chassis or a solid, non-moving, metal vehicle
component or body part. Never clamp directly to negative battery terminal or moving
part.
5. Procedure for jump-starting POSITIVE GROUND SYSTEMS
Note: In the rare event that the vehicle to be started has
a Positive Grounded
System (positive battery terminal is connected to chassis), replace steps 4a
and 4b above with steps 5a and 5b, then proceed to step 6.
5a. Connect negative (–) black clamp to vehicle batteryʼs
negative terminal.
5b. Connect positive (+) red clamp to vehicle chassis or
a solid, non-moving, metal vehicle
component or body part. Never clamp directly to Positive bat
tery terminal or moving
part.
6. When clamps are connected properly, turn the Jump-St
arter Power Switch to ON.
7. Turn ON the ignition and crank the engine in 5-6 second
bursts until engine starts.
8. Turn the Jump-Starter Power Swit
ch back to the OFF position.
9. Disconnect the negative (–) engine
or chassis clamp first, then disconnect the positive (+)
battery
clamp.

5. Procedimiento para arrancar SISTEMAS CON POSITIVO A TIERRA.
Nota: En el caso poco habitual de que el vehículo que se debe arrancar
tenga un sistema de
positivo a tierra (el terminal positivo de la batería
está conectado al bastidor),
reemplace los pasos 4a y 4b anteriores
con los pasos 5a y 5b, luego continúe con el paso 6
.
5a. Conecte la pinza negra del negativo (–) al terminal del negativo de la batería del
vehículo.
5b. Conecte la pinza roja del positivo (+) al bastidor del vehículo o a un componente
metálico no móvil y sólido, o una parte de la carrocería. NO FIJE LA PINZA
DIRECTAMENTE AL TERMINAL DEL POSITIVO DE LA BATERÍA O A UNA PARTE MÓVIL.
6. Cuando las pinzas estén correctamente cone
ctadas, coloque el interruptor de energía del
puente auxiliar de arranque en la posición de encendido (ON).
7. Encienda la ignición y acelere el motor en etapas de 5 a 6 segundos hasta que arranque.
8. Coloque el interruptor de energía del puente auxiliar de arranque en la posición de
apagado (OFF) nuevamente.
9. Desconecte primero la pinza del NEGATIVO (–) del motor o del bastidor y luego desconecte
la pinza del POSITIVO (+) de la batería.
ADVERTENCIAS
An
tes de empezar, asegurase que el arrancador auxiliar tenga el interruptor en apagado (OFF)
• Este sistema es solo para ser usado en vehículos o botes con sistema de bat
ería de 12V CC
• Nunca toque las pinzas negras y rojas al mismo tiempo. Esto puede hacer puen
te, o causar
chispas peligrosas y/o explosión.
• Vehículos con
sistemas computarizados pueden dañarse si se utiliza el arrancador auxiliar.
Antes de utilizar el arrancador auxiliar en este tipo de vehículos, lea el manual para confirmar
si asistencia externa pa
ra arrancar el vehículo es aconsejada.
• Intento excesivo para arrancar el motor, puede causar daño al motor de arranque del vehículo
.
Si el motor no arranca después
de la cantidad de intentos recomendados, deje de utilizarlo y
busque otros problemas que nec
esiten ser corregidos.
• Después de usarlo, coloque el interruptor del arrancador auxiliar en posición de
apagado (OFF).
PRECAUCIONES
• Si la alarma de Polaridad Invertida suena después de que las pinzas son conectadas a la
batería del vehículo, desconéctelas.
• Si el motor no arranca, deje la llave de ignición en apagado y desconecte primero la pinz
a del
negativo (–) y luego la pinza del positivo (+). Inténtelo nuevamente luego, el motor puede estar
ahogado.
• Recargue el sistema de puente auxiliar de arranque completamente cada vez que termine d
e usarlo.
