OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
TRIGGER SWITCH
This drill is equipped with a variable speed switch. The
drill speed depends on how far the trigger is pressed.
1. To start drill, gently squeeze the trigger switch (1)
(Fig. A).
2. To stop the drill, release the trigger switch.
NOTE: Drillingforanextendedperiodoftimemay
cause the drill motor to overheat. If drill gets hot, stop
drilling and allow it to cool for at least 15 minutes.
FORWARD/REVERSE BUTTON
The forward/reverse button (2) is mounted above the
trigger switch (1) (Fig. A).Tomakethedrillrotateclockwisefordrilling,pushtheforward/
reversebuttontotheright.Tomakethedrillrotatecounter-clockwise,pushtheforward/
reverse button to the left.
NOTES:
a)Neverchangethepositionoftheforward/reversebuttonwhilethechuckisturning.
b) There is no dead center position for the forward/reverse button. The tool will run only
when it is in either the full left or full right position.
INSTALLING DRILL BITS
WARNING:Neverholdthechuckbodywithonehandandusethedrillpowerto
rotate the drill body to loosen or tighten bits. Serious injury may result.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury, always
unplug drill from power supply before making any
adjustments or changing accessories.
Thisdrillisequippedwithakeylesschuck.
Thischuckisdesignedtoprovideeasytwo-handed
tighteningandlooseningofthechuckjaws.
1.Toopenthekeylessdrillchuck,graspandholdthe
chuckcollar(6)withonehand(Fig. B). Rotate the
chuckbody(3)inacounter-clockwisedirectionuntil
thechuckjaws(7)openwideenoughtoacceptthebit(8).
2.Insertthebitintothechuckthefulllengthofthejawsoruntilthespiralportionofthebit
isnearthechuckjaws.Raisethefrontofyourdrillslightlytopreventthebitfromfalling
outofthechuckjaws.
3.Tightenthechuckjawsontothebitbyturningthechuckbodyinaclockwisedirection.
NOTE: MakesurethebitisproperlyalignedinthejawsandNOTatanangle.An
improperlyalignedbitcouldbethrownfromthechuckwhenthedrillisstarted.
4.Finishtighteningthechuckjawsbyholdingthechuckcollarwithonehandandfirmly
tighteningthechuckbodybyrotatingitinaclockwisedirection.
NOTE: Handtightenthechuckjaws.DoNOTusepliers.
WARNING:Donotinsertthedrillbitintothechuck
and tighten as shown in Fig. C. The drill bit MUST be
properlyinsertedwithallthreeofthechuckjawsholding
thebitcenteredinthechuck.Failuretoproperlyinsertthe
drillbitcouldcausethedrillbittobethrownfromthechuck,
resultinginpossibleseriousinjuryordamagetothechuck.
REMOVING DRILL BITS
1.Toopenthekeylessdrillchuck,graspandholdthechuckcollarwithonehand.Rotate
thechuckbodyinacounter-clockwisedirectionuntilthechuckjawsopenwideenough
to release the bit.
2. Remove the bit.
TRIGGER SWITCH LOCK
WARNING: ThedrillshouldonlybelockedONwhenitisheldstationaryinadrillpress
standorothermeans;NOTBYHAND!Neverunplugthetoolwiththelockingfeature
engaged.Todosowillcausethetooltostartimmediatelythenexttimeitispluggedin.
Thetriggerswitchlock-onfeatureallowsthetriggerswitchtobelockedintheONposition
