If the answer (and/or originate) connect baud rate is to be other than the DTE rate or if a
particular answer (and/or originate) connect baud rate is desired it must be configured through
the answer (and/or originate) modem string.
The RSX will not adjust its DTE rate to that of
the negotiated connection baud rate. This is not a problem for those modems which fix
the DTE rate regardless of the connection rate (DCE rate). For modems that adjust the
DTE rate to the connection rate, the connection rate should be fixed to the DTE rate
through the use of appropriate Call Answering and Call Origination setup strings. See
Table 6 for recommendations.
Typical External Modem Setup Strings
The following table will help configure the most popular external modems for use with the RSX.
In general, modems should be set for error correction disabled, flow control disabled, and data
compression disabled.
