6 Unit Sessions and Connections
This chapter describes how to view and manage unit sessions and connections in the DTX Control software.
6.1 Force and Follow Modes
Force Mode allows the DTX Control administrator to force a user login/logout or a connection/disconnection between a
receiver and a transmitter from within the DTX Control web interface. It can be used independently or in conjunction with
Follow Mode to control a pre-defined group of user stations.
Follow Mode allows the DTX Control administrator to force a list of receivers to connect to a list of transmitters.
Follow Mode adds two functions to the DTX Control web interface:
• In Regular Follow Mode, the DTX Control administrator can force up to seven receivers to connect to the same
transmitter that the lead receiver connects to.
• In Multi-video Follow Mode, the DTX Control administrator can force each receiver in a list to connect to a
corresponding transmitter once the lead receiver connects to the lead transmitter.
6.1.1 Regular Follow Mode
In Regular Follow Mode, the DTX Control administrator designates certain user stations and servers as leaders. When a
user station designated as a leader performs a switch, the DTX Control web interface will force other designated user
stations to switch to the same transmitter as the leader.
To create a user station group and designate target devices for Regular Follow Mode:
1. Click the Units tab.
2. Select Follow Mode from the side navigation bar. The Follow Mode Settings window will open.
3. Select the UserStation Groups tab and click New.
4. In the Receivers drop-down list, select the user station that you wish to be the leader and click Add. The user station
will move to the top row of the configuration table.
5. In the Receivers drop-down list, select a user station that will be a follower in the group and click Add.
6. Repeat step 5 for each user station that will be part of the group.
NOTE: A user station group in Regular Follow Mode can have one leader and up to seven followers.
NOTE: You can make any user station within the configuration table the leader by moving it to the top of the table using the arrow button at the
bottom of the screen.
7. When you've added all the follower user stations, click Save.
8. Select the Target Groups tab and click New.
9. From the Transmitters drop-down list, select the transmitter that you want the user station group to follow and click
Add. The selected transmitter will move to the top row of the configuration table.
NOTE: The selected transmitter must be set to Share Mode to work in Regular Follow Mode. See Share Mode on page 39.
NOTE: Although the DTX Control web interface will allow you to add multiple transmitters to the Target Group configuration table, the user station
group will only follow the device listed in the first row of the table in Regular Follow Mode.
10. Click Save.
