SNMP
SNMP or Simple Network Management Protocol is a set of protocols for
managing complex networks. SNMP works by sending messages, called
protocol data units (PDUs) to different parts of a network. SNMP-compliant
devices (agents), store data about themselves in Management Information
Bases (MIBs) and return this data to the SNMP requesters.
The CS SNMP agent supports SNMPv1/v2 and v3. To use SNMP v1 or v2,
you need to specify a community name, a source IP address or a range of IP
addresses, an object ID (OID), and permission (read-write or read-only).
SNMP v3 requires: user name, password, OID, and permission.
Selecting Network > SNMP brings up the form shown in the following figure.
