CHAPTER 5: SCSI Switch Control: Online
Settings:
Communications: Changes the communication-port settings for proper
communication between the PC or workstation and the Switch. The following
screen will appear when this option is selected.

In this screen, if “Connect via RS-232 Serial Port” is selected, Port defines
which port on the PC or workstation is connected to the RS-232 serial port,
while Baud Rate defines the baud rate (in bps) for communicating between
the PC or workstation and the Switch. Changes made will immediately affect
the communication with the active device. For a description of the Assign IP
Address... feature, see Section 9.2.
Event Notification: Gives you the opportunity to define how the Switch notifies
you of problems that might affect it. When you select this option, a screen
appears with checkboxes you can use to turn on or off the display of messages
advising you of:
– when the temperature limit is exceeded,
– when the power supply fails,
– serial/LAN port comm warnings, or
– serial/LAN port communication failures.
