NOTE: This application will not register any uid lower than 5" / 127 mm from bottom of the tank or 5" / 127 mm from
top of the tank.
1. Determine tank depth in inches.
2. Remove cap from gauge nipple.
3. Remove tissue paper allowing chain to free-fall.
4. Conrm chain is knot-free.
5. While holding chain rmly, use plastic loop to remove shipping foam insert
from inside nipple. Do not let go of chain - it will retract into body and be
irretrievable.
6. While holding chain rmly, retract chain slowly until gauge reads 5" less than
tank depth (determined in step 1) and mark chain at bottom of nipple.
7. Pull out approximately an additional 18" of chain.
8. Reinstall shipping foam insert to keep chain from retracting.
9. Cut chain at mark.
10. Attach chain to vertical oat.
11. Remove shipping foam insert.
12. Slowly pull oat down then retract to conrm gauge is functioning properly.
13. Apply Teon tape or appropriate pipe thread sealant to male threads of
gauge. Ensure there is no sealant on the chain or internal mechanism, as
this may void the warranty.
14. Using the chain, slowly lower the oat assembly to the bottom of the tank (do
not drop oat in).
15. Install gauge to tank, tighten rmly - approximately 1 to 2 turns past hand
tight - but do not overtighten.
DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. DO NOT USE HOUSING AS A WRENCH.
ALWAYS USE CHAIN TO LOWER FLOAT TO BOTTOM OF TANK.
