4.9 Disk Replacement in a Single Disk System
To replace a disk in a single disk system, follow these steps:
1. Remove the top cover assembly as instructed in the Top Cover Removal and Replacement section.
2. Remove the disk as instructed in the Disk Removal section.
3. Install the new disk as instructed in the Disk Installation section.
4. Replace the top cover assembly as instructed in the Top Cover Removal and Replacement section.
5. Power up the unit as instructed in the Server Power Up section.
6. If a backup image is available, recover the disk data as instructed in the How to Restore Data section of the
System Administration Guide. If no backup is available, reinstall the software on the disk as instructed in
the Upgrading Server Software section of the System Administration Guide.
4.10 Disk Replacement in a Mirrored Disk System
To replace a disk in a mirrored disk system, follow these steps:
