Switching the headset on/off
In or der to ope ra te the he ad set, a te le pho ne functi on key shall be set up in the form of a he ad set key. The LED as sig -
ned to this but ton in di ca tes whet her the he ad set is swit ched on or off (LED on/off).

Announcement
The an noun ce ment functi on al lows the in ter nal con nec ti on to ot her te le pho nes wit hout them ha ving to ac ti ve ly ac -
cept this con nec ti on (i.e. lift re cei ver, switch vo lu me on). This is a one-si ded con nec ti on in which on ly the ex ten si on
in itia ting the an noun ce ment is he ard.
The start of the an noun ce ment is signalled by an attention tone.
Initiate announcement
The an noun ce ment is in itia ted by me ans of a code pro ce du re (see el meg PABX user guide).
If your te le pho ne is the des ti na ti on for an an noun ce ment, the call num ber of the an noun cer ap pe ars on the dis play.
The an noun ce ment is no ti fied by me ans of an at ten ti on to ne on the loud spea ker. The an noun ce ment can be ter mi na -
ted with the ESC key.
The an noun ce ment is ac cep ted au to ma ti cal ly by activating the loudspeaker function, if:
· the te le pho ne is idle.
· the an noun ce ment is per mit ted in the PABX (can be con trol led by the »an noun ce ment
on/off« functi on key).
You can in itia te an an noun ce ment via a pro gram med functi on key. An an noun ce ment can al so be in itia ted du ring an
exi sting con nec ti on (in hold for en qui ry) using the function keys.
, You can only use this functi on if the an noun ce ment is re lea sed for your in ter nal num ber (MSN) in the
PABX.
Automatic callback
You can re ach an ex ten si on who is cur rent ly bu sy by using the au to ma tic call back functi on. You then re cei ve a mes -
sa ge sta ting that the ex ten si on for which a call back has been set up can now be cal led. This mes sa ge is dis play ed for
ex ter nal call backs from the ex chan ge and for in ter nal call backs from the PABX.
The te le pho ne dis play then in di ca tes »re call.«. This dis play al ter na tes every 2 se conds bet ween the num ber or
na me of the de si red par ty. As soon as you ac cept this no ti ce (by lif ting the re cei ver, for ex am ple), the selected
subscriber is called automatically.
Automatic callback when busy (CCBS)
When you call the de si red con nec ti on, you he ar the en ga ged to ne. With »Call back on Bu sy« you can re ach the en ga -
ged per son on ce they ha ve re pla ced the re cei ver at the end of the call.
