Opening Box Configuration Steps
The messaging system provides a default configuration for the opening box. While this configuration enables the
messaging system to function immediately it can be changed to meet the needs of your organization.
Use the following steps to configure an opening box.
1. Plan the messaging system opening action. Decide how callers are greeted and routed. Decide how many
opening boxes are needed.
2. Create required opening boxes.
See Creating Opening Boxes.
3. Configure the general opening box.
See Editing Opening Box Profiles and Routing Callers to a Language Select Box.
4. Record greetings.
See Recording Greetings and Configuring Actions After Greetings.
5. Set the action the system takes after playing the greeting.

6. Configure one-key dialing.

7. Configure directory assistance.

8. Test the opening boxes. Call the system and confirm that the opening boxes are correctly handling the calls.
