Accessories for industrial power modules
Product: PSZ-1011, EMC lter module for chassis and DIN-rail mounting
Intended use
The lter module attenuates conducted electromagnetic interference and thereby improves the EMC characteristics of the BEND power modules
(e.g. improvement from class A to class B according to EN 55022, depending on application). The module is a built-in unit and must be mounted on a
DIN-rail or (after removing the mounting plate) on a rm surface. Only a qualied technician may install this unit.
Safety instructions
Attention, danger of life! The lter module is for chassis or DIN-rail mounting. Contact with the input or output terminal blocks of the lter module
may cause an electric shock! The following safety label is to be axed to the cabinet: „Before opening the cabinet, pull the mains plug!“
It is strictly forbidden to modify, open, disassemble or reconvert the lter module! Any use other than described in these operating instructions
may damage the lter module and cause dangers such as short-circuit, re etc.!
In case of damages due to disregard of these operating instructions any warranty will expire. Bicker will not be responsible for any consequential
damages! We refuse any responsibility for damages to property or persons due to inappropriate handling or disregard of these operating
  instructions. Any warranty will expire!
Technical data
Before using this lter module, be sure to read the data sheet. If it is unavailable, you can read or download it in the internet on www.bicker.de. Here
you will nd important information such as input voltage, output rating, operating temperature, derating, connection of earth conductor and more.
The lter module may not be operated outside of these technical data!
Installation and start-up
Only a qualied technician may install this unit. During installation the respective standards regarding electrical safety as well as the standard
EN 60950 have to be observed. Before soldering the lter module, power-o the unit by disconnecting the power plug from the lter module.
The lter module is a built-in unit and may preferably be used inside a metal housing (e.g. electrical cabinet). The end device must comply with the
current EMC standards. It is also recommended to use short cables between the module and the load.
The lter module is a product according to Protection Class I. When installing the lter module, ensure a secure protective conductor connection
from the power module to the metal housing. The leakage current should not exceed 3,5 mA. During installation ensure that the lter module is
adequately ventilated. Free circulation of air has to be possible. Also make sure that the ventilation slots are not covered by objects, assembly parts
or ribbon cables.
Operation
The lter module may only be operated in dry interiors. Contact with water, even by condensing air humidity, has to be avoided under any
circumstances. Operation under conditions such as extreme cold or heat, in a dusty environment and near inammable gases, steams or solvents is
strictly forbidden as well. Always ensure an adequate ventilation.
Maintenance
The lter module does not contain any parts which need maintenance.
In case of failure, switch-o the lter module and pull the main plug.
Repairing is not possible due to the encapsulated construction.
