2) Audio Outputs
The DP-P2 supports Dolby Digital decoding so that it can decode and
output the Dolby sound through the RCA connectors. It also supports
digital outputs with optical and coaxial ports.
Audio Format: The DP-P2 has 2ch analog audio outputs for a stereo
speaker system. But it can transmit audio signal up to 5.1ch through
digital audio outputs if the content has 5.1ch audio source. If you
only have a stereo speaker system, you have to set the audio format
as 2ch. In this case the DP-P2 down mixes the 5.1ch audio signals to
a stereo audio signal. If you connect a 5.1ch speaker system to the
DP-P2 through the digital audio outputs, please choose 5.1ch for the
best performance. In order to decode an audio source with an
external audio decoder system, set the audio format as pass-through.
S/PDIF Output: Enables the digital audio output through the coaxial
and optical ports.
