7.4 Specifications of the RS 232 Interface
Speed 9600 Baud
Data format 1 start bit, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity
Handshake none
Sub-D 9 Pin 2 = Rx
Pin 3 = Tx
Pin 5 = GND
The data exchange between the MIX 10 NG2 and the superior control is done via two-byte commands which are integrated in a data packet
with subsequent check sum.
The structure of the commands is as follows:

The following commands are received from the MIX 10 NG2:

Hex Abbrev. Designation Description
0x10 DLE Data Link Escape Control character, which indicates that a defined number of following
characters has another meaning e.g control information
0x02 STX Start of Text Designates the start of the actual message and the end of the “Header”
0x01 Dev. No Device Number States the device ID
- Len Length States the length (byte) of the actual command (Cmd+Data) – normally
0x02 or 0x03

0x03 ETX End of Text Designates the end of the message to be transmitted.
- Check Sum Check Sum XOR control byte to recognise if the command has been transmitted
correctly
