Bewatel the traditional door entry phone
Bewatel is Bewator’s entrance phone system for small businesses and domestic premises, and is
available for one to four extensions. At each extension a telephone handset is fitted for answering
and opening the entrance door.
There are three Bewatel models in the range, some with a built-in codelock, which will allow separate
control for staff and residents. Bewatel is designed to withstand the majority of environments both
internal and external. Bewatel has a cast metal housing and stainless steel push buttons. Sound quality
is excellent and the entrance phone unit is only slightly larger than a conventional codelock panel.
Bewacom Uses the PABX system for door opening
Bewacom makes use of a company’s internal telecommunications network as it is connected
directly to the company’s telephone switchboard just like any other extension. Installation is
simple and inexpensive, as no major cabling is required. Using their ordinary office telephone,
employees can respond to visitors at an entrance, and even open the door without leaving their
desk. This allows for calls to be made from anywhere outside to anywhere inside the building; a
big advantage, especially if the reception is closed.
A list of extension numbers can be displayed next to the Bewacom, or visitors can be given an
extension number to call upon arrival. Bewacom also has a built-in codelock function with time
control to allow employees to gain access to the building at specified times while effectively
keeping out all unauthorised visitors.
Telecode TC5000 Uses the public telephone line
Modern Door Entry systems consist of two parts, and the most expensive of the two you already
have. Telecode is a patented, BABT approved door entry telephone system, which can be connected
direct to the public telephone network. The Telecode system provides a simple and secure solution
for answering and opening remote doors via a conventional telephone handset operating over BT,
Mercury or Cable networks.
The system is suitable for both commercial and residential applications, especially multi-tenanted
buildings, where the installation wiring of a conventional system would be difficult and expensive.
Using the public telephone network not only saves on installation costs but also permits easy
expansion of the system and keeps maintenance costs to a minimum. Telecode will work with all
approved analogue DTMF “Touch Tone” telephones.
