MASTERKEYED CYLINDER SYSTEMS

A Masterkeyed cylinder system is made up of cylinders which can include different cylinder types and profiles. The pictures above show the most popular
types and profiles. If an existing lockcase is being used then first check what profile of cylinder is required. A masterkeyed system normally has a
masterkey(s) which can gain access through all cylinders. Individual differ keys are supplied which can only operate a specific cylinder. Selecting the correct
cylinder length is important not only for appearance, but also ensuring that the cylinder is flush with its surrounding hardware. This helps to increase
security by reducing the amount of leverage that can be exerted on the cylinder end with a wrench. The cylinder length is calculated by adding the cross-
sectional width of the door to any trim or hardware that surrounds the cylinder on each side of the door. Cylinders can then be selected depending on the
following requirements:
Single Cylinder
- key enters in one end only. A cam is fitted at the opposite end which turns on activation by the key. This cam will inturn rotate within the
lockcase operating the latch or the bolt.
Double Cylinder
- as per the single cylinder but accepts a key at both ends. The cam is located at the centre of the cylinder body.
Cylinder & T
urn - as per the double cylinder but accepts a key at only one end. The opposite end is fitted with a knob turn which in turn would normally be
fitted on the inside leaf of the door. The cam is located at the centre of the cylinder body.
Rim Cylinder
- has a flat tail which operates the locking mechanism. The tail can be cut to suit different door thicknesses.
Rim Mortice Cylinder
- is threaded and can be adjusted in and out to suit different door thicknesses before being locked into position normally with a
retaining screw.
Restricted cylinder systems are exclusive to ADI Gardiner. The keys cannot be copied or reproduced by others. Cylinder prices shown come complete
with two keys, prices indicated are for either a stock or bespoke masterkeyed cylinder system.
Masterkey Selection:- use the following procedure for selecting and specifying a Masterkey System
1. Identify the doors that require cylinders to be fitted
2. Select the cylinder profile for the door - the cylinder profile needs to match the profile of the lockcase it is to be fitted into ie Euro, Oval, Mortice
3. Select the cylinder type from the end users requirements - If the door is to be operated by a key from one side only select a single cylinder, if the door is
to be operated by a key from both sides select a double cylinder, if the door is to be operated by a key on one side and a turn on the other select a
cylinder & turn etc...
4. Select the cylinder length by adding the thickness of the door to any hardware on the door that the cylinder passes through (this may be trim or cylinder
escutcheons).
5. Specify the number of keys required for each cylinder, these are known as differ keys
6. Specify the number of keys that are required to pass all cylinders - these are known as master keys
Note: Dimensions detail the cylinder lengths from end to end.

Cisa Wavemode is the revolutionary new design in hotel and accommodation locking solutions. For the first time, the design takes into account
the overall aesthetics of the door and offers a separate reader and lockset that combine internally to give a stunning and fresh look to this system.
Wavemode offers contactless proximity card operation which ensures that the cards cannot be copied or cloned helping to reduce fraud while
increasing room security. The Wavemode system is extremely durable to wear resistance and vandalism compared with traditional magstripe
technology locksets and provides a longer life of maintenance free operation.
Wavemode is designed to be fitted into existing or new doors and can cope with up to 300 doors on a single site. Each lock is battery operated
and has an on board audit log for the last 500 events.
System specification is made easy by selecting an appropriate number of locks to suit the number of doors, card encoding unit, hand held
interrogator, software (if required), an appropriate number of proximity cards, installation (if required) and commissioning.

