System Introduction
Bewator Entro is an access control system developed for companies and organisations requiring a high level of
security whilst at the same time being user-friendly and simple to manage. By avoiding the insecurity of keys
which often get misplaced, Bewator Entro instead enables authorised individuals to use a card or a token to
gain access into protected areas. Assigning who can come in, where they can go and at which times is easily
managed from a standard PC running the Entro software. Should an individual’s card be lost or stolen, it can
easily and quickly be disabled preventing its unauthorised use to gain entry. In addition, Bewator Entro can
also be used in conjunction with an intruder alarm system, thus simplifying and streamlining ‘keyholder’ arming
and disarming procedures.
The system uses distributed intelligence via SR32i Segment Controllers, which hold all the necessary
information for system operation, whilst the PC is only used for programming and monitoring. There are five
Segment Controllers available - 2, 4, 8, 16 and 32 - allowing costs to be optimised for different system sizes.
Up to sixteen Segment Controllers can be connected to a bus.
The DC-11 or DC-21 Door Controllers are connected to the Segment Controllers. The type chosen depends
on the functions required for each door in question. The Door Controllers are in turn connected to the Reader
at the door. The system can utilise the complete range of Bewator Readers, from Proximity, Hands-Free,
Magnetic Stripe to Smart Cards.
Bewator Entro also supports connection via TCP/IP over a LAN or WAN and also features an Integral
Reservation Booking Function, which allows certain people or groups to reserve access to premises at
particular times. This is ideal for conference rooms, squash courts and other leisure facilities. Reservations are
made via the Internet or from Bewator’s InfoPoint IP810 touch screen reservation terminal next to the location
in question.
Despite being able to cater for up to 512 doors, 12,000 card holders, 160 time schedules, 240 access groups
and 128 zones, Entro 4 is one of the simplest systems to install and using Bewator's Starter Packs and Reader
Packs, it is now more cost effective and easier to specify.
