Chapter 4. Installing the Camera and Cables’ Connecting
N300 Installation User Manual
12
To make a network cable, you need the following materials: a UTP category 5e cable, two
RJ-45 connectors and an RJ-45 crimping tool.
Assembling the pairs of wires in the correct order (see the table above) ensures data
transfer speed of 100 Mbps.
N300 supports power transmission simultaneously with data transmission through a
network cable (PoE technology). Such way of connection is used in the IP Telephony, for the
wireless network access points, the IP cameras and for the other devices when power supply
through a separate electric cable is not suitable.

To connect the camera using PoE technology you need a patch cord only, without an
additional power source.
4.5. Connecting Digital I/O
BEWARD N300 has digital input/output for connecting of external sensors and alert
devices.
Digital input: is used for connecting of external sensors such as volume sensor. Alert
event appearance is caused by closing or disjunction (it is specified in camera’s settings)
of the contacts 3 (digital input) and 2 (GND) (Pic. 4.3).
Digital output: is used for connecting of alert devices (for example, an annunciator)
through transponders (for example, a relay). In case of alert event coming the contacts 4
(digital output) and 2 (GND) are closing or breaking (it is specified in camera’s settings).
It leads to voltage changing between contacts 1 (5V DC) and 4 (digital output) and as a
result to changing state of the relay which is connected to these contacts (Pic. 4.3).
