NOTICE: • Leaking batteries may damage the device. If you do not intend to use the scale for longer periods, remove the battery from the battery compartment before placing the device in storage. • To avoid draining the batteries do not place any items on the scale (Please make sure that there is no weight on the feet of the scale) when not in use. • Batteries can contain toxins that are harmful to the environment. Always dispose of batteries in accordance with applicable local regulations.

5. Batteries WARNING: • Swallowing batteries and/or battery fluid can be extremely dangerous. Keep the battery and scale out of the reach of children. Should a child, or any other person swallow a battery and/or battery fluid, please call 911 immediately. • Should battery fluid leak and come into contact with your eyes or skin, immediately rinse with plenty of clean water. Measuring weight only lb Tap-On Tap briefly on the weighing area of your scale. The entire display is shown (Fig. 1) until “º.º” (Fig. 2) is displayed. Stand on the scale without moving and distribute your weight evenly on both legs. The scale immediately begins to measure your weight. Your measured weight is displayed shortly after this (Fig. 3). Performing the measurement: Note: The measurement for body fat, body water and muscle percentage may only be carried out when using Tap-On. – Tap briefly on the weighing area of your scale. – Select the memory preset where your basic personal data are stored by pressing the “up” or “down” buttons repeatedly. The data is displayed consecutively until “º.º” (Fig. 2) appears. – Step onto the scale barefoot and make sure you’re standing on both conductors. First your body weight is calculated and displayed.

9. Results in relation to time Note: Remember that only long-term trends are important. Short-term fluctuations in weight over a few days are usually the result of fluid change, due to fluid intake or loss. The interpretation of the results will depend on changes in your overall weight and body fat, body water and muscle percentages, as well as on the period during which these changes take place.

Cleaning, maintenance and disposal NOTICE: • Protect the scale against hard knocks, moisture, dust, chemicals, major temperature fluctuations and heat sources which are too close (e.g. stoves, heating radiators). This may damage the unit. Agua corporal De acuerdo con la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS 2001), el porcentaje de agua corporal deberá estar normalmente dentro de los siguientes rangos: Mujeres: 50 – 55 % Hombres: 60 – 65 % Niños: 65 – 75 % La grasa corporal contiene relativamente poca agua. Por lo tanto, las personas con alto porcentaje de grasa corporal tienen porcentajes de agua corporal inferiores a los valores recomendados.
