This body analysis scale is designed to make a contribution to your health. The scale offers the following functions for use by a maximum of 10 persons: • Measuring and monitoring weight. • Calculating body fat, body water and muscle percentages, bone mass, basal metabolic rate and active metabolic rate. • The body analysis scale has an innovative display that shows the desired measured value at the press of a button.
• The measuring results of the body fat, body water and muscle percentage are shown in 0.1% increments. • On delivery, the scale is set to “inch” and “lb”. Information The measuring principle This scale operates according to the B.I.A. principle (bioelectric impedance analysis).
CAUTION: • If a battery has leaked do not touch the battery fluid. Avoid skin contact (e.g. put on protective gloves) and clean the battery compartment with a dry cloth. NOTICE: • • • • • Always use the size and type of batteries indicated. Never use different types of batteries, battery brands or batteries with different capacities. Never use rechargeable batteries. This may damage the unit. Always replace all batteries at the same time and use batteries of the same type.

• You can view any other measured variable together with stored related values by pressing the relevant function button . • If no buttons are pressed for a short time, “0.0” appears on the display and the scale is ready for measurement. 8. Note: Please do not confuse bone mass with bone density. Bone density can be determined only by means of a medical examination (e.g. computer tomography, ultrasonic scans). It is therefore not possible to draw conclusions concerning changes to the bones and bone hardness (e.g. osteoporosis) using this scale. Little influence can be exerted on bone mass, but it will vary slightly within the influencing factors (weight, height, age, gender).
9. Troubleshooting Following error messages can appear. Error display Possible errors The scale was not activated before you Err stood on it. If you stand on the scale before “0.0” appears in the display, the scale will not function correctly. Err The electrical resistance between the conductors and the soles of the feet is too high (e.g. in the case of thick calluses or too dry soles). Err The fat percentage is outside the measurable range (less than 5% or greater than 50%).
Cleaning and maintaining To keep your scale in the best condition and protect the unit from damage follow the directions below: The scale should be cleaned occasionally. Dirt and dust has a tendency to collect on the rubber conductors. Always stand on the scale barefoot or wearing socks as the rubber surfaces will quickly become dirty if you wear shoes. Note: Always stand on the scale barefoot when activating the analysis functions. Otherwise the measurement will not be performed correctly.

Las baterías nuevas durarán aproximadamente dos años si se usa la báscula tres veces al día. Las baterías de prueba incluidas con la báscula pueden durar menos tiempo. 6. Ajustes Introduzca su información personal antes de usar la báscula. Si no se presiona ningún botón durante 90 segundos durante el procedimiento de configuración, la báscula se apaga y se pierde cualquier información introducida. 7. Masa ósea Igual que el resto de nuestro cuerpo, los huesos están sujetos a los procesos naturales de desarrollo, degeneración y envejecimiento. La masa ósea aumenta rápidamente en la niñez y alcanza su máximo entre los 30 y 40 años de edad. La masa ósea se reduce ligeramente conforme avanza la edad. Usted puede reducir un poco esta degeneración con una alimentación sana (especialmente con calcio y vitamina D) y ejercicio regular. Con la formación muscular adecuada, también puede reforzar su estructura ósea.
• Si su peso y porcentaje de grasa corporal disminuyen al mismo tiempo, significa que su dieta está funcionando; usted está perdiendo masa grasa. • Idealmente, usted debe acompañar su dieta con actividad física o entrenamiento para estar en forma o energético. En esta forma podrá aumentar su porcentaje muscular durante un plazo mediano. • No sume los porcentajes de grasa corporal, agua corporal o muscular, ya que ciertos elementos del tejido muscular también contienen agua corporal.
