No. The SoClean uses no uids in its operaon. It sanizes with gaseous acvated
oxygen. No harsh uids or water are used in this process.
No. The powerful sanizing agent used by the SoClean never reaches the outside
environment. It is generated and contained safely within the SoClean system, and is
converted back into the air we breathe when it is released.
Aer sanizing, your equipment will carry a light, clean scent. Some have described
it as a mild bleach odor. This scent indicates that your equipment has been
sanized.
If you have already treated your equipment with the Neutralizing Pre-Wash, and sll
feel that the scent is too strong, there are a number of things you can do: (1) Before
donning your mask at bedme, run your CPAP for 20 seconds to allow any residual
scent to be expelled. (2) Set the mer so that treatments take place earlier in the
day, allowing any residual scent to dissipate by nighme. (3) Reduce the treatment
duraon me. Using your SoClean manual, you can cut back to as lile as 5 minutes
and sll receive eecve sanizing. (4) Sanize your equipment every other day
instead of daily.
Five to ten minutes should be enough to completely sanize your equipment.
Anything beyond that is likely unnecessary. The SoClean should never be set to run
for longer than 30 minutes, with at least a 30 minute cool-down.
Nylon and natural rubber break down when exposed to acvated oxygen.
Mainstream manufacturers typically do not use these materials in their reservoirs,
hoses, or headgear.
