Product security checklists
17-44 Issue 9 May 2003
End-User Education
[Required] The end-user must
periodically/frequently change all
secondary passwords. After
changing the secondary passwords,
the end-user should notify the
appropriate Avaya support
organization(s) that the passwords
have been changed.
[Recommended] Require that
subscribers record their name
prompts so that the system voices
the mailbox owner’s name to callers
sending messages to M2000
system mailboxes.
MERLIN Legend Security
[Required] Contact the Avaya
system representative to determine
what security features are available
for the Merlin Legend
communication system and how to
implement them. Follow the
guidelines given in the Merlin
Legend security checklist. Before
implementing any security features
on the phone system, contact an
Avaya technical support
representative to ensure that the
features you want to implement will
not disrupt M2000 system
performance in any way.
1. If “NO” (N), provide Note reference number and explain.
