SOME NOTES ON THE TRANSLATION OF THESE ORIGINAL
BERGAMONT OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
The illustrations on the first pages of the translation of these original
BERGAMONT operating instructions show a typical BERGAMONT mountain
bike and two typical BERGAMONT pedelecs. One of these BERGAMONT bikes
looks similar to the BERGAMONT bike you have purchased. Today’s bikes come
in various types that are designed for specific uses and fitted accordingly. The
translation of these original BERGAMONT operating instructions includes the
following bicycle types:
Mountain bikes (a-d)
Pedelec, EPAC (in colloquial speech: E-bike) (e+f)
Speed pedelec
The translation of these original BERGAMONT operating instructions is not
applicable to any other than the displayed bicycle types. This manual is not in-
tended to help you assemble a BERGAMONT bike from individual components,
to repair it or to make a partly assembled BERGAMONT bike ready for use.
In the translation of these original BERGAMONT operating instructions pedelecs
with drive support and described as EPACs in the European standard EN 15194
are referred to as pedelecs. For the different EPAC types, see the chapter “In-
tended use of your BERGAMONT bike”.
In the translation of these original BERGAMONT operating instructions the term
“bicycle” will always be used in general descriptions if this refers to mountain
bikes and pedelecs.
