b. FTP-We would host ftp services also on this server. We would use WU-
FTPD software originally developed at Washington University. This
software would replace the Red Hat FTP daemon. This software is able to
handle all ftp duties on the network.
4. Email Server- Scanmail—This product is very scaleable. It can not only handle
the email server’s duties but additional modules/features can be added to provide
anti-spam and anti-virus protection.
5. Print Server-CUPS is the open source program we chose. It has a web interface,
network printer directory services, encryption support, PPD-based printer drivers
along with many other features that made it a natural choice.
