Connecting AV Equipment
Connecting Composite Video Signal (RCA)
Com posite video input is the most com m only used signal input. H ow ever, this type of input also
provides a less optimal image quality. Many video sources can only output C om posite video sig-
nals, for exam ple, VCRs and cam corders. Other video sources, such as laser disc players, actu-
ally produce slightly better results when using Com posite video.
Connecting S-Video Signal
Of all the signal types, S-video provides the second-best quality, and it is far superior to C om -
posite video signals. Because of this, when using satellite receivers, high-quality VCRs and DVD
players (without Com posite video output) as sources, S-video will provide a clearer, sharper sig-
nal.
Connect the Composite signal terminal on
the TV to the output of AV equipment via
an Composite video cable (RCA
connector) as illustrated.
The DV2680/DV3070 provides two sets of
Composite video inputs (AV1 & AV2).
