41 Controlling wirelessly from your smartphone or tablet
2. Make sure the smart display and your media device are within the same home network and
the network connection is enabled.
3. Tap from the smart display’s Home to enable DLNA service. If the green line under
the icon is displayed, the service is enabled.
4. Make sure an appropriate DLNA application (with DMR function) has been installed on the
media device to receive files. You can download one of the DLNA applications from the
application store that can be accessed from your media device. Different applications may
be available depending on the operating system of your media device.
5. Choose the files to be played on your media device from Music Share or Video Share on
the smart display, and tap .
6. Your smart display scans for available DLNA players. Choose the desired media player.
7. On smart display, tap and drag the media files to the selected media player. The playback
will start on your media device immediately. You can now control the playback from either
your media player or smart display.
Controlling wirelessly from your smartphone or tablet
(Could Remote)
If remote control of the smart display is preferred, it is possible with your smartphone or tablet
that is equipped with touchscreen.
1. Make sure your smart display is powered on and connected to the Internet.
2. Tap to enable remote control service. If the green line under the icon is displayed, the
service is enabled.
3. Tap > BenQ Recommend, and then select Cloud Remote and Download.
4. Select a application that is compatible with the operation system of your phone/tablet. You
can choose to install the application of
Cloud Remote on your phone/tablet through QR
code or Browser.
5. If QR code is selected, aim the camera lens of your phone/tablet at the QR code to
download the application directly.
Alternatively, send the link to application through e-mail. Receive the e-mail on your
phone/tablet, and access the application by clicking the provided link.
6. Launch
Cloud Remote on your phone/tablet.
7. You are requested to enter IP address of the connected smart display. Check the IP
address of smart display from > Settings > Wi-Fi > (on the top-right corner) >
Advanced > IP address. Input the IP address to your phone as requested, and select
Connect. Your phone now becomes the remote control of smart display.
If Internet connection through Wi-Fi is not available to smart display, you can set smart display as a Wi-Fi hotspot
(see Setting your smart display a hotspot for Wi-Fi connection on page 27 for details).
