Troubleshooting
There are many external influences and circumstances beyond the control of
BenQ which may be causing problems with your TV. Some of the more
common and user fixable problems are listed below for your information.
Please check the following list before calling your nearest BenQ Customer
Service Center, and attempt the following steps to diagnose and fix the
problem yourself:
Symptoms Possible Causes
TV does not turn ON
Ensure the TV power is ON (as shown by the green
Power indicator on the front of the TV). If so, check
that the remote control is working or not. Press the
Power/standby button on it.
If not:
• Check that the power plug is securely inserted into
both the
AC-INLET socket on the TV and the wall
outlet, and that the wall outlet is switched on (if
switched).
• Check that power is available from the power outlet
by trying another known working appliance (e.g.
desk lamp) from that same power outlet.
There is no picture or
sound
• Try a different input source to confirm if the
symptom is still present or whether the source is at
fault.
• Check for mis-connection of cables for that input.
• Make sure the antenna cable is properly connected.
• Change programs to confirm if the symptom is still
present or whether the program station is at fault.
• Try a different picture mode to check that picture
settings haven’t been turned down.
• Adjust the volume control to check that isn't turned
down, or that the
Mute button wasn't pressed.
• Make sure that the
Speaker Out option in the
Audio menu is not set to Off.
• Check the audio input cables for disconnection.
"Not supported" appears
The PC VGA output signal resolution is set too high.
1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz is the highest acceptable PC
timing.
The image appears
distorted
• Ensure the TV's aspect ratio is correctly set to suit
the image source.
• Try a different input source to confirm if the
symptom is still present or whether the source is at
fault.
Improper screen position
or size
• Try selecting a different aspect ratio.
• Try a different input source to confirm if the
symptom is still present or whether the source is at
fault.
