Mode of operation
The phone can be operated in TDMA
networks as well as in GSM net-
works. You can set one of these op-
erational modes as standard or
switch between the two modes au-
tomatically.
When switching on the phone for
the first time, automatic selection is
active.
Automatic selection
When automatic selection is active,
the network last used is searched
and the phone determines whether
a SIM card is inserted.
Depending on the situation, the cur-
rently available network is displayed
for the selection.
Only TDMA
In TDMA mode the phone can also
be used without a SIM card.
Only GSM
GSM mode is only possible when a
SIM card is inserted.
Barrings
Locking restricts the use of your SIM
card (not supported by all service
providers). You need a 4-digit pass-
word that your service provider sup-
plies you. You may need to be regis-
tered separately for each lock.
